Today, December 1st, is World AIDS Day. There will be many events happening around the globe in support of this, and probably most of these will focus on policy or human rights aspects.

Now, I think these things are very important, but of course I’m here to tell you about the science of it all. I’m going to switch up my usual format a bit to bring you a basic, general roundup of the science behind HIV and AIDS, as well as examples of research that’s been done recently.
