If you’re at all like me (that is to say, awesome), you’re eagerly anticipating the release of the final installment of the Harry Potter movie franchise this Friday (at 12:00 a.m., if you’re one of the cool kids). To celebrate both this long-anticipated film and the debut of my blog, I’m kicking off a six-day series on the technology of Harry Potter, as it can be found in real life. If you’re a fan, check back every day leading up ’til the film for more. If you’re not a fan, GTFO – but only until next week, when there will be more up here that even a Muggle like yourself can appreciate.
Alright, first up in the series is a universal remote that looks and acts like a wand. It has 13 programmable functions that allow you to change the channel or adjust the volume just by waving, flicking, or swishing the wand towards your TV. But hey, why stop there? This can be used in place of any of your remotes – DVD player remote, sound system remote, remote for turning off/on/dimming your lights … (everyone has remote-controlled lights, right??)
The people over at ThinkGeek have made a pretty awesome video featuring this little guy:
Awesome. Now keep reading.
